This solid-bronze L-shaped weatherstrip is used in traditional interlocking weatherstripping systems for wood doors and casement windows.
As the old-timers say, “Nothing beats interlock.” Interlocking weatherstripping is the longest-lasting type of weatherstripping. We regularly see it on doors more than 100 years old, and the metal often outlasts the door itself.
- Material: solid bronze, also commonly called brass weatherstripping
- Appearance: satin brass, unlacquered
- Ordering unit: 4 feet
- Standard 4-foot units ship free
How to Order L-Shaped Weatherstrip
We recommend ordering 4 foot pieces and butting them together to make longer runs. This is how it was traditionally done, as if you look closely at an old door you will see the butt joint between weatherstrips.
Add the number of 4-foot units needed to cover all the material for your project.
Standard 4-foot units are returnable.
This product can be purchased in lengths up to 8 feet. Order using this formula: Total lineal feet / 4 feet = quanity in cart. At checkout put your lengths in the comments. We will contact you before shipping to ensure the order is correct. ***There is a freight charge of $150 for lengths over 4 feet. Invoiced separately.***
Installing Interlocking Weatherstripping
The metal weatherstrip is fastened to the door and jamb with brass nails. The door must be accurately cut to receive the interlocking pieces.
Installation requires competent carpentry, careful fitting and advanced-level patience.
