Baldwin 5399.M Thumbpiece Repair Kit — Emergency Egress, Inside Knob

The Baldwin 5399.M repair kit is for an operating Baldwin Estate tubular handleset with a knob on the inside and emergency-egress operation.

Use this kit when the outside thumbpiece is loose, stays down, will not spring back, or no longer retracts the latch correctly.

Confirm this is the right kit

• The door is operating, not fixed or dummy.
• There is a knob on the inside.
• Lock the deadbolt, then turn the inside knob. It retracts both the latch and deadbolt together.

If the deadbolt must be unlocked separately, use Baldwin 5399.G. If you have an inside lever, use Baldwin 5399.N. For a fixed full-dummy door, use Baldwin 5399.K.

Choose the finish

Choose the Baldwin finish that matches your existing hardware. Older finishes may have aged or developed a patina, so a new replacement part may not look exactly the same at first.
