Wiping Varnish Medium Lustre

Tung oil wiping varnish, medium lustre: hand-rubbed look, more protection. Polymerized tung oil fortified with urethane resin, for interior surfaces that see water and food, like dining and coffee tables.

Good for

• Tables, furniture, built-ins and cabinets.
• Turnings.

How to use it

• Apply 2 coats of Wiping Varnish Sealer.
• Follow with 2 or more topcoats by brush or rag.
• Wait 24 hours between coats.
• Apply between 55 and 75°F with humidity at 65% or lower.

Good to know

• Interior use.
• Low odor; thinned with refined mineral spirits.
• Plan on a maintenance coat every 3 to 5 years.
• About 600 sq ft per gallon for the first coat on new wood, 800 for the second, and 1,000 for the third and fourth.
• Rags soaked with oil finish can catch fire on their own. Lay them flat outside to dry or keep them in a sealed can of water.

Common questions

Wiping Varnish or straight tung oil?
Wiping Varnish adds resin for better water and wear resistance on tables. Straight tung oil gives the most natural look on trim and doors.
