Murdoch's Uralkyd 500 Floor Finish Gloss

The toughest interior topcoat in the Murdoch's line, gloss. Uralkyd 500 is a urethane alkyd floor finish that goes over Murdoch's Hard Sealer. The sealer brings out the grain and the Uralkyd adds wear resistance on top.

Good for

• Wood floors, stair treads and thresholds indoors.
• Tables, counters and bar tops.

How to use it

• Apply 2 coats of Murdoch's Hard Sealer.
• Brush on 2 coats of Uralkyd 500 or apply with a synthetic pad. Don't roll the topcoat.
• Wait 24 hours between coats. Stir during use.
• Keep foot traffic off for 72 hours and rugs off for 2 weeks.
• Apply between 55 and 75°F with humidity at 65% or lower.

Good to know

• Expect 5 to 10 years of wear.
• Not spot repairable. Worn areas are recoated as a whole.
• Don't pour it into enamel-lined cans; the resin will cloud.

Common questions

Uralkyd or Hard Oil?
Uralkyd 500 is harder and lasts longer on floors. Hard Oil is easier to wipe on and is spot repairable.

Can I use it over stain?
Yes, over Old World stain sealed with Murdoch's Hard Sealer.

Use it with

• Murdoch's Hard Sealer (required base coats).
• A natural china bristle brush.
