Murdoch's Table Top Satin

A brush-on interior varnish for tables and bar tops, satin. Murdoch's Table Top is heavy on urethane alkyd resin with polymerized tung oil. It wears hard but dries slowly, so it's a finish for patient, careful work.

Good for

• Dining tables, bar tops and commercial counters.

How to use it

• Apply 2 coats of Murdoch's Hard Sealer first.
• Brush on very thin coats; this is the slowest-drying topcoat in the Murdoch's line, so dust is the main risk.
• Wait 24 hours between coats.
• Apply between 55 and 75°F with humidity at 65% or lower.

Good to know

• Expect 5 to 10 years of wear.
• Not spot repairable.
• Sold in quarts only.

Common questions

Is Table Top hard to use?
Sutherland Welles calls it expert level. If dust or drips worry you, Murdoch's Hard Oil or Uralkyd 500 are easier topcoats.

• A natural china bristle brush.
