Murdoch's Hard Sealer

The base coat for the Murdoch's system, or a finish on its own. Polymerized tung oil with urethane alkyd resin. Use it alone for a satin to gloss finish, or as the primer under Hard Oil, Table Top or Uralkyd 500.

Good for

• Doors, trim, ceilings and beams.
• Furniture and cabinets.
• Floors and counters, under a Murdoch's topcoat.

How to use it

• Brush on or wipe on. Wipe for a lower sheen.
• Wait 24 hours between coats.
• Apply between 55 and 75°F with humidity at 65% or lower.

Good to know

• Spot repairable. Expect about 5 years before a maintenance coat.
• Don't pour it into enamel-lined cans; the resin will cloud.
• Rags soaked with oil finish can catch fire on their own. Lay them flat outside to dry or keep them in a sealed can of water.
