Aqua Glaze Glazing Compound

A water-based glazing compound for wood and metal window sash. Aqua-Glaze holds the glass and seals the joint between glass and sash. You can paint it in about 30 minutes, and it cleans up with water.

Good for

• Reglazing wood or steel window sash.
• Filling countersunk nail heads, small cracks and gaps.

How to use it

• Prime bare wood first; use a rust-inhibiting primer on steel.
• Work above 40°F.
• Knead the compound, press it in, and tool it smooth with a putty knife.
• Paint with latex or oil paint once it skins, in about 30 minutes.

Good to know

• White, knife grade.
• Sold by the case only: 12 half pints, 6 quarts, or 2 gallons.
• Interior or exterior.

Common questions

Glazing compound or linseed oil putty?
Aqua-Glaze is fast: paint in about 30 minutes, water cleanup. Traditional linseed oil putty takes weeks to skin before painting. If you're not sure which suits your sash, ask us.

Is this the same as caulk?
No. Glazing compound is made to be tooled into a clean bevel that holds the glass. Caulk isn't.
