Standard or extended? The standard strike is used for a normal door-and-frame condition. An extended lip is used when the strike lip needs to project farther past the frame or casing. Baldwin determines extended lip-to-center length by door thickness ÷ 2 + 3/8", rounded to the closest available size.

Door handing

For an inswing door, stand on the outside/key side facing the door. Hinges on the right = Right Hand. Hinges on the left = Left Hand. For a reverse-bevel/outswing door, Baldwin specifies the opposite strike hand.

Extended Baldwin mortise strikes are curved-lip and handed. If you are replacing an existing strike and are unsure which model or hand you need, compare the lock function and strike shape before ordering.
