What is interlocking bronze weatherstripping?

Interlocking bronze weatherstripping uses shaped metal pieces on the door and frame that fit together when the door closes. Instead of relying on foam or rubber compression, the metal edges interlock to block drafts and wind-driven rain.

It is a traditional system used on many historic wood doors and can also be installed on new wood doors.
