Why is my door hard to close after interlocking weatherstripping was installed?

Interlocking weatherstripping should not require you to slam or force the door. If the door became difficult to close, the door may be out of alignment, the strips may be bent or set too tightly, or paint and debris may be interfering with the interlock.
