How Much Clearance Should a Door Have Above an Interlocking Bronze Threshold?
Share
For the installation method shown in Classic Door's photo guide, trim the bottom of the door so it sits about 1/8 inch above the interlocking part of the threshold.
The important reference point is the interlocking part of the threshold itself. Do not use the surrounding floor or sill surface as the only reference.
After the threshold is dry-fitted and marked, the door is removed, trimmed, and prepared for the J-hook. Our guide shows a 3/8-inch rabbet for the J-hook.
